IGFH Raises Men’s Health Awareness with Annual Two Balls One Stick Charity Event

On November 26, Cammeray Golf Club played host to the annual Two Balls One Stick charity golf event, organized by International Greenkeepers for Hire. The day brought together greenkeepers, golf enthusiasts, and sponsors for an 18-hole, two-ball ambrose competition, all in the name of men’s health.

This free-to-attend event combined plenty of light-hearted fun with a serious mission: raising money and awareness for Movember, the global charity addressing men’s mental health and physical health challenges.

Despite the heat, spirits remained high as golfers took to the course. Brent Williams and Hedger Michael took the winning spots, finishing with an impressive 57 off the stick.

“It’s always great to see people enjoying themselves while contributing to such an important cause,” said IGFH’s Daryl Davidson, one of the event organizers. “We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us and braved the heat in support of Movember. Events like this show just how strong the greenkeeping community really is.”

The day offered more than just free golf and lunch, with raffles and sideshows providing additional entertainment and giving attendees a chance to donate to a good cause.

We’d like to give special recognition to John Flynn from The Perfect Pitch, who flew in to support the event, and Dan Studders of Ground Solutions Australia and Cammeray Golf Club, whose efforts helped bring the day together. We’d also like to thank Cammeray Golf Club for hosting the event, and providing a well-maintained course and a welcoming environment for everyone involved.

A long list of sponsors made the event possible: Hutcheon & Pearce, K&B Adams, Gilba Solutions, ChaCha Turf, Veljohn, Indigo Specialty Products, Nuturf Equipment Solutions, Colin Campbell Chemicals, Malvern Hill Partners, Jesta Transport, Superior Turf Services

The event had a great turnout, and we’re already making plans for the third installment of Two Balls One Stick in 2025.
