On Wednesday, February 4, we attended the Milwaukee Experience Day, hosted and organised by the TETO Group (Turf Equipment Technicians Organisation), with Brad representing IGFH and GroundsFest Academy alongside other industry professionals. The event was coordinated by T.E.T.O’s Chris Minton, James Wilkinson, and Matthew Axton, offering attendees a valuable opportunity to explore Milwaukee’s latest equipment and training environments in a practical setting.
The day began with an introduction and networking session, where members could connect and catch up before moving into structured group tours of the facility. Attendees were split into smaller groups and guided through the different areas of the building, which covered a wide range of operational topics, including PPE, lighting solutions, hand tools, storage systems, workshop setups, and groundcare-focused equipment.
As the day progressed, the groups rotated through the container bays, giving us an opportunity to explore each product range in more depth. These sessions focused on practical considerations such as pricing, warranties, competitor comparisons, and long-term value, with the chance to ask questions relevant to our day-to-day roles.
A key part of the experience took place within the workshop and training areas, where Milwaukee demonstrated how their internal and external training programmes are delivered. These spaces are used not only for staff development but also for external users, with the aim of ensuring that everyone operating the equipment works to a consistent and high standard.
There were several groundcare-focused sessions that generated significant interest, with demonstrations and discussions centred around chainsaws, strimmers, multi-tools, and battery-powered equipment. We had the opportunity to closely inspect the equipment and assess how it would integrate into existing workshop and site operations. For many T.E.T.O members, this provided a first-hand look at options they’re considering for future investment.
At IGFH, we jump at the opportunity to attend events like these as often as we can. We learned a lot about the mechanical and technical side of equipment selection, servicing, and training standards within the industry, and experiencing the centre itself was a real standout aspect of the visit. The facility is purpose-built and currently one of a kind in the UK, designed specifically to allow professionals to test and handle equipment in a real workshop environment.
