A Look Back at BTME 2025

January is often a cold, wet and snowy month in the UK, but it also brings with it the great opportunity to attend the BTME (BIGGA Turf Management Exhibition). BIGGA describes the event as “the leading turf management exhibition in Europe”, and it is an event that is not to be missed if you work on a golf course or sports turf management. Held at the Harrogate Convention Centre, the 2025 exhibition will take place from 20th – 22nd January, with the “Continue to Learn” education programme running from 18th – 21st January.

I have been lucky enough to attend BTME in a variety of roles over the years, whether it was to explore the latest machinery, make connections with other professionals, attend educational seminars, or even to run a 5k (on those rare mornings when I could drag myself out of bed!). Each year, BTME is an invaluable opportunity for industry professionals and manufacturers to meet, and there are many benefits for those who attend.

This year, I attended the T.E.T.O. educational seminars, which covered three topics: diagnosing problems with spray equipment, using digital tools such as TurfKeeper to manage servicing schedules and stock levels, and improving the cut and geometry of cylinder mowers with Tom from TCS Turfcare. These were a great opportunity to share knowledge, learn about the latest developments in the industry, and gain CPD points.

We also brought along a few copies of our magazine and still have a few left, if you’d like a physical copy please contact us, or the digital edition can be found here.

The exhibition itself was buzzing throughout the day. It was great to meet new people and catch up with familiar faces. The golf industry is changing rapidly, with new regulations, new technology, and challenges from economic and environmental factors. BTME gives BIGGA members and the wider golf and sports turf industry the tools it need to overcome these challenges and ensure a bright future for golf.

BTME is an unbeatable combination of exhibitions, “Continue to Learn” education, conferences and legendary networking. With over 100 exhibitors and more than 250 hours of education specifically designed for sports turf professionals and the golf club industry. We look forward to seeing you all in 2026 at BTME!
